We are looking for families of 4 to 6 year olds to
participate in the Growing Up in Rockbridge pilot study.
What is it?
Growing Up in Rockbridge is a
project designed by Dr. Megan Fulcher and her undergraduate laboratory
students.
We are designing a future study
about parent-child interactions during shared activities. This is a pilot study
to try different activities to find which are enjoyable and feasible. Examples
of activities include: book reading, Legos, &
science experiments.
What happens?
Participating families will have a
project backpack delivered to them. Inside the backpack they will find a fun
activity, a Flip video camera, and instructions. At a time and place convenient
and comfortable for them, one parent and child will work together on the activity
and film their interaction with the Flip camera. The activity shouldn’t take
longer than half an hour. After the activity find the small thank-you gift to
keep and pack the activity, folder, and camera back in the bag. We will pick up
the backpack at a time and place you choose.
