Assignments

There are six graded "exercises" that are required of each student. Four of these are open-book take-home "mini" exams. A typical question might be: "Neurophysiologically, what's the difference between a hallucination and a real sensory experience?" Each of these questions counts 12.5% of your final grade and is due one week from the date of assignment.

The second project is a lab practical that counts 20% of your grade. This will require you to know the "Top 100" brain parts in the Whole Brain Atlas and answer questions related to methods discussed in the labs.

The last project is a term paper on some topic relevant to this course. Suitable topics range from "How people with split brains drive" to "Behavioral strategies to reduce the occurance of seizures". The term paper counts 30% of your final grade and is due on the last day of finals at 5pm.

Any assignment that is late is subject to point reductions. We’ll talk more about the exams and these assignments in class.
