and Chair, Neuroscience Program Post doctoral study, Yale University, 1988 Ph.D., University of Georgia, 1983 Joined Washington and Lee University's faculty in 1988 Research My research is concerned with understanding the neurophysiological basis of cognition and its evolution. The primitive nature of the olfactory system provides an interesting avenue to this topic. Most of my research involves recording human brain electrical activity as subjects detect or label odors.
